30 Day Game of Thrones challenge

Day 19 ~ Invent a character that would fit in GoT.

I already have. Depiste GRRM’s feelings on Fanfiction, I must write it or die of the ever repeating conversations in my head that my OCs have with characters. So, yes, I have a GoT OC. This is her. This goes more by the show than the books because everyone is bumped a few years older in the show. Forgive any discrepancies.

Name: Kaura Mormont
Goes by: Kaura No-Name
Hair: Black
Eyes: grey
Height: 5’ 8”
Build: average but muscular
Age at start of the show/books: 20

Info: Kaura is Jeor Mormont’s youngest child, given to him by a second wife he took after Jorah’s mother died. It is from her mother that her black hair comes. She used to be quite close with Jorah until his run in with Ned Stark. And then her father left what remained of her family for The Wall. After all of this, Kaura vowed never to take the name Mormont again and forsook all her inheritance to Bear Island. She ran away at the age of about 13, and made her way to Winterfell, seeking shelter. Ned Stark took her in, making her something of a ward. She quickly befriended Jon Snow, and when they got older, she fell in love with him but refused to tell him. Arya Stark is her favorite Stark child, but she has a healthy fondness for Bran as well. She was allowed to train in combat and rivals many of the men she is surrounded by with a sword and bow. Despite Ned Stark’s kindness, it is his brother Benjen that becomes Kaura’s main father figure in place of her own.

After Robert Baratheon comes and asks Ned to be Hand, she decides to go south with Ned, but not until she’s seen Jon safely to The Wall. On this journey, she befriends Tyrion Lannister. Once in King’s Landing, she becomes rather close friends with Jaime Lannister, much to Ned’s discomfort. After Jaime attacks Ned in the street, Kaura is the one who rides off to settle the issues with Catelyn and Tyrion since Robert ordered Ned to stay put. She arrives at The Vale and she is the one who fights to free Tyrion because she believes him innocent of the crimes he had been accused of. This sets her at odds with Catelyn, but she doesn’t really care.

After all that, she rides back to King’s Landing, leaving Tyrion and Bronn to fend for themselves. She had been kept in the loop about Ned’s investigations and she learns the truth about Joffrey, Myrcella, and Tommen, but refuses to believe it until she hears it from Cersei’s own mouth, which she does. When Petyr Baelish turns on Ned, Kaura is taken captive with Ned, but Tyrion Lannister sends a raven, commanding some of his men to free her, claiming “A Lannister always pays his debts. A life for a life.” She flees King’s Landing, meeting up with Robb and his army, then going north again to The Wall to beg to be allowed to go searching for Benjen, which she isn’t allowed to do. She and Jon admit their feelings to one another, share one night of passion, but still he chooses the Wall over her, so she leaves again.

When she gets back to Robb’s camp, she learns that they captured Jaime Lannister, and she demands to see him. She confronts him about some things…not everything…then decides that, despite it all, he is the only person she feels she can talk to. What she hasn’t realized yet, is the feelings she is beginning to have for him, even after everything she knows.

And that is as far as it goes given I’ve only seen season 1 and I’m still on the first book. xD. If you read this whole thing, I love you.
